Much of his time with the UII has involved working directly with Philadelphia’s manufactures, as a “marketing coach," and leading a New Product Development Group, teaching companies how to innovate and bring new products to market. This initiative alone, between 2000 and 2002, generated $16 million in new investment and created over 250 new jobs for those companies participating. Now, as President & CEO of the UII and Manufacturing Alliance of Philadelphia, Steve is largely involved with policy issues effecting Philadelphia’s manufacturing sector and in developing new programs to enhance the growth and profitability of this important part of the City’s economy.
